The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran

Betsy’ Bookshelf: The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran is my favorite book of all-time. Written in 1923, the book offers sage advice presented in the form of prose poetry fables. One quote from the section on Buying and Selling is, “It is in exchanging the gifts of the earth that you shall find abundance and be satisfied. Yet unless the exchange be in love and kindly justice, it will but lead some to greed and others to hunger.” This book was given to me by an 8th grade teacher. www.betsycrichard.com
